Watershed Management Group: Training in Advanced Cisterns, May 12 – 15, 2011 – Tucson AZ

WMG’s Technical Training in Advanced Cisterns is a hands-on training in site assessment, design, implementation, and maintenance of a variety of cistern types and systems, including ferrocement and underground tanks, cistern pump and irrigation systems, systems for use with indoor plumping, and designs for potable use. The course curriculum builds upon concepts introduced in WMG’s Water Harvesting Certification Course, and includes:
- Classroom lectures
- Site assessment, design, and planning sessions
- Hands-on implementation workshops, including:
1) Ferrocement cistern for potable use
2) Pump-and-tank irrigation system
3) Cistern linked to internal plumping system
- Tour of local cistern systems
