In this workshop taught by Brad Lancaster, you’ll learn how to create simple, low-maintenance, legal, and effective household greywater harvesting systems that use gravity to direct greywater directly into the landscape (no stinky tanks) where it passively irrigates landscape plantings. This can greatly lower water consumption and water bills, while enhancing and beautifying your yard. We will discuss how to create greywater systems, greywater-harvesting guidelines, materials and suppliers,
greywater-appropriate soaps and detergents, marrying greywater and
rainwater-harvesting earthworks, and how to maximize your greywater-irrigated
landscape’s potential with passive solar design, food production, and oasis
design. We will also discuss tax rebates for rainwater and greywater-harvesting
systems, and view a slide show of different greywater systems. We will also
design and install three greywater systems at the Pierson St Ecohood in
North Central Phoenix, giving you hands on experience so that you can install one
yourself. Don’t miss this chance. Brad will also have copies of his book

Classroom Portion: The classroom portion of the class will be held at
Florence-Crittenton Services, 715 W Mariposa St, Phoenix, AZ (essentially
Camelback and 7th Ave – a short walk from the Pierson St Ecohood), from 9am
to 12noon. Mariposa St is between Pierson St and Camelback. Parking will be
available at Florence Crittenton Services, and along both Mariposa and
Pierson Streets. In order that we may start the class on time, please arrive
between 8:30am and 8:50am. Cars parked in the Florence Crittenton Services parking
lot will have to be moved to street-side parking after the classroom portion is
completed.

Lunch: There are many eating establishments within a short walk or drive.
Lunch will be between 12noon to 1pm.

Installation Portion: The installation of the greywater systems will be
held at the Pierson St Ecohood, 912 W Pierson St, Phoenix, AZ 85013, from 1pm to
4pm. We ask that you arrive at the Pierson St Ecohood a few minutes early so that
we may begin our installation portion on time. Your contact person at the
